Description

Special Two Day Workshop (Not open to Public informational purpose only)

Why is this important?

Objective 1: Provide basic psychological first aid training to 300-400 displaced people in IDP camps by end of 2028  to address Myanmar's leadership succession planning crisis and create a pool of healthy and Happy Sound leaders. This will build capacity for psycho-social support at low cost relative to benefits. The UNICEF report shows psychological first aid has a high benefit-cost ratio, giving good value for money.

Objective 2: Incorporate leadership development modules into the training curriculum. This will empower youth to become change agents and future leaders.

Objective 3: Evaluate well-being and leadership outcomes for training participants over next five years. Monitoring results will help demonstrate the benefits and support continued funding based on evidence.

Overall, by investing in displaced young individuals with mental health and leadership capacity, this initiative will help address the succession planning crisis in Myanmar in line with Sone Yay's mission. Uplifting undeserved and oppressed individuals globally.
